MOUNT MERU TREKKING

Mount Meru in Arusha national park, standing at 4566m, boasts a striking ascent route via the Momella route. Trekkers traverse lush rainforests inhabited by diverse wildlife, alpine meadows, and rugged terrains. The final push involves a challenging scramble to the Peak. The journey offers stunning vistas of Kilimanjaro and the Great Rift Valley.

ROUTE FOR THE ASCENT

Mount Meru is less frequented and can be seen as very easy to climb, but it is the opposite and because of that, it only has one route to ascend.

Day 1: Arusha- Miriakamba Hut

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddel Hut

The ascent continues, up a steeper slope than the previous day. Once you reach the refuge in about 2.5 hours, in the afternoon, you can make an ascent to the small peak of Meru, or rest as the next day begins at night.

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Top – Saddle Hut

The last ascent to the summit begins in the early morning of the third day and after a cup of tea or coffee you ascend to the top to watch the sunrise at the summit. Afterwards we descend to Saddle Hut for breakfast. The rest of the day is for resting.

Day 4: Saddle Hut – Arusha

After breakfast, you descend to the door, where the transport to Arusha/Moshi awaits
