DAR ES SALAAM – NYERERE NATIONAL PARK – MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK – UDZUNGWA MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK – RUAHA NATIONAL PARK – ZANZIBAR Explore the untouched wilderness of Tanzania’s Southern Circuit Safari, where adventure meets luxury. Day by Day Route Day 1 : DAR ES SALAAM – NYERERE NATIONAL PARK In the morning your guide will meet you at your hotel in Dar es Salaam and as soon as your luggage has been loaded into the vehicle you will set off. The journey typically starts with a drive from Dar es Salaam, a bustling city on the coast of the Indian Ocean, heading southwest towards the national park. As you leave the city behind, the landscape gradually changes from urban to rural, with small villages and farms dotting the roadside. The road passes through lush greenery, including forests and farmlands, providing a scenic backdrop for the journey. Upon arrival at the park, you are greeted by the park’s stunning natural beauty, with sweeping views of the plains and the meandering Rufiji River Day 2 & 3: NYERERE NATIONAL PARK Nyerere National Park, formerly known as Selous Game Reserve, is a pristine wilderness and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Tanzania. Spanning over 30,000 square kilometers, it is one of the largest protected areas in Africa. The park is named after Julius Nyerere, Tanzania’s first president, and is renowned for its vast and diverse wildlife. Leaving after an early breakfast you will meet your hiking guide at the national park entrance gate. The park can only be explored on foot and from the gate you will set off on a hike through the rainforest. Morning game drive before departure to Zanzibar. You’ll witness millions of wildebeests, and zebras among others crossing rivers and vast plains in search of greener pastures. Each day offers new sights, from thrilling river crossings to breathtaking landscapes and encounters with diverse wildlife. Day by Day Route Day 1 : arrival Kilimanjaro International Airport Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). After completing Immigration formalities, collect your baggage and walk out to meet with your guide for greetings and transfer to the accommodation planned for the first night. Arusha city is a hub for safari tourism, with a bustling market, lively street life, and a mix of traditional and modern architecture with a pleasant climate due to its elevation. Arusha is often considered the gateway to several national parks, making it a popular starting point for safaris and outdoor adventures. Spanning 2,850 square kilometers, the park attracts diverse wildlife, including lions, and an abundance of bird species. The Tarangire River flows through, is the magnet of the wildlife, standing as a vital water source during the dry season. Day 3: MTO WA MBU – LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK Just a short drive away from your lodge, Lake Manyara National Park has a very unique ecosystems, from the lush groundwater forest to the expansive soda lake that graces its name. Well known for its tree-climbing lions, it hosts a myriad of wildlife, including elephants, hippos, the park is a birdwatcher’s paradise, boasting flamingos, pelicans, and numerous species. The lake, a shimmering expanse, reflects the pink hues of flamingos, creating a mesmerizing sight. This park embodies the essence of African wildlife and scenic beauty in a relatively small area. Day 4: LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK – LAKE NATRON. Starting from Mto wa Mbu, a vibrant town known for its cultural diversity and the gateway to Manyara National Park, you’ll first travel through the town’s bustling streets, passing by markets and local shops. As you leave the town behind, the road gradually ascends. The road winds its way through the dramatic landscapes of the Rift Valley, with towering escarpments and ancient volcanic peaks looming in the distance. Along the way, you may spot wildlife such as giraffes, zebras, and baboons grazing by the roadside. On your arrival you can stroll to the lake, go on hikes, or cool off in nearby waterfalls. A short drive on your way to the natural spring pool from camp is some well-preserved human footprints, estimated to be between 5,000 and 19,000 years old Day 5: LAKE NATRON – NORTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK. Today you will leave your camp early in the morning driving to the northern Serengeti National Park, passing through the rugged and arid landscapes of the Great Rift Valley. Continuing north, you’ll enter the Serengeti ecosystem, where the landscape transitions into vast plains dotted with acacia trees. This area is renowned for its incredible wildlife, including the Big Five (lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and rhinos) as well as wildebeest, zebras, and giraffes. Day 6 & 7: NORTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK. Finally, the day with the purpose of our Safari has come, we will drive alongside the Mara River in search of the possible crossing migratory Animals. The Great Serengeti Migration is one of the most spectacular natural events on Earth. It involves millions of wildebeest, zebras, and other herbivores moving in a circular pattern through the Serengeti ecosystem in Tanzania and the Maasai Mara ecosystem in Kenya. The migration is driven by the search for greener pastures and water, and it follows a fairly predictable pattern throughout the year. Day 8: NORTHERN – CENTRAL SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK. After early morning game drive, we will drive towards Serengeti Central via the famous Lobo and Togoro zone before reaching Seronera. Seronera is particularly renowned for its resident big cat population, including lions, leopards, and cheetahs. The area is also home to a variety of other wildlife, such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, and numerous species of antelope. The Seronera River flows through the region, attracting a wealth of wildlife, especially during the dry season when water is scarce in other parts of the park. Day 9: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK – NGORONGORO CRATER. You will have breakfast at dawn before the 4×4 safari vehicle takes you to the crater rim from where you descend into the crater on an adventurous and steep trail. A tapestry of landscapes the sunken beauty of the ngorongoro crater, The planet’s biggest unbroken, inactive volcanic Crater. With its stunning landscapes and views, the Ngorongoro crater is an exceptional geological landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site that promises sightings of the Big Five and plenty of other wildlife as well. The Crater measures around 12 miles across, with a Rim that rises 3000ft from the floor and is covered with ancient forests draped in lichen. Day 10: CULTURAL ACTIVITY – KILIMANJARO AIRPORT A guided half-day tour by a local guide gives the opportunity to interact with local farmers, craftsmen and painters, Coffee tour, a visit to Maasai Village or bike tour. It is fascinating to hear the colorful blend of languages and witness first-hand the unique customs. Cultural diversity is seen in the various entrepreneurial ways including the Rangi creating colorful, beautiful mats and baskets using papyrus from the lakes and rivers. Transfer to HOTEL IN ARUSHA for dinner and sleep. Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park After breakfast we leave for the Tarangire National Park. This day we have a picnic to enjoy the day enjoying the safari. Dinner and overnight at LODGE. Day 2: Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park This day we leave very early in the morning in the direction of Serengeti through the road of the conservation area of the Ngorongoro Natural Park. It is a route of about 170km. The journey takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to make since the road to Serengeti is dusty and bumpy. The rest of the day we took the opportunity to do photographic safari. Dinner and accommodation at TENTED CAMP. Day 3: Serengeti National Park Desayunamos muy temprano y salimos de safari. Este día se puede elegir si comemos de picnic mientras se hace safari o si se prefiere regresar a la zona de acampada para comer caliente y descansar un rato. In the afternoon we drive to Lake Eyasi. Have dinner and sleep in LODGE. Day 6: Eyasi Lake – Maasai Boma After breakfast early in the morning, we will meet the Bushmen (Hadzabe) closely to join them in the hunt and in the daily morning meeting, then we will sing and dance with them at their home. Then, we will go to the Datoga tribe, known as Black Smith, to see their activities. After all the events, we will return to the hotel for lunch and a short nap before continuing to the town of Maasai. Dinner and overnight at TENTED CAMP.P. Day 7: Maasai Boma – Airport Transportation After breakfast we will spend the morning knowing the Maasai culture. We will visit our Maasai school project. Known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World,” the crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, boasting a unique ecosystem teeming with diverse wildlife. The crater’s floor is a lush haven, dotted with open grasslands, acacia forests, and the sparkling Lake Magadi, a magnet for vibrant flamingos. An exceptional geological landmark and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, that promises sightings of the Big Five and plenty of other wildlife as well.
